Amanda is an adult education specialist who has worked as a Training Consultant, Learning & Development Manager and RTO Manager within the health, aged care and community services sector. She is a skilled facilitator and coach and has extensive experience in developing a variety of training packages including accredited courseware, online and blended models and classroom programs. She has experience in organisational development and identifying and developing whole of organisation as well as whole of sector learning needs.
Since 2007, Amanda has been employed by Berry Street in various Learning & Development roles and is currently the Head of Learning & Organisational Development. In this role, Amanda leads a team responsible for an external calendar or training and events designed to strengthen the capacity of practitioners and the wider sector.
Amanda has a particular interest in organisational and sector development and especially how learning can be effectively applied in the workplace to improve practice. She has written her Master’s thesis on the issue of learning transfer within the Community Services Sector – ‘From learning to behaviour change: factors that influence the transfer of workplace learning’.
