Once again we are proud to partner with Richard Rose, Honorary Associate of Berry Street, Director of TLSWi (UK), Adjunct Associate Professor of Social Work and Social Policy at Latrobe University and Honorary Associate at the Institute for Open Adoption Studies, University of Sydney. Richard is a leading expert on Therapeutic Life Story Work and working with 'hard to reach' children and young people.
At the heart of all placements in out of home care, residential care and those affected by early years trauma, is the challenge of attachment. That human bond that provides security, consistency, predictability and repetition. This webinar will present theory and practical activities that will support attachment, attunement and more stable placements. The final part of this series will introduce the notion of recovery and how and what interventions would support traumatised children to develop a healthier sense of self, belonging and self-mastery.
Drawing on child development and attachment theory the workshop will seek to assist attendees in assessing and developing attachment based interventions so that we have the professional language and the professional/personal skills and confidence in this key area of trauma recovery practice.
Attendees will need to have texters, paper and a note pad available for each session.
