Once again we are proud to partner with Richard Rose, Honorary Associate of Berry Street, Director of TLSWi (UK), Adjunct Associate Professor of Social Work and Social Policy at Latrobe University and Honorary Associate at the Institute for Open Adoption Studies, University of Sydney. Richard Rose is a leading expert on Therapeutic Life Story Work and working with 'hard to reach' children and young people.
Richard will work with practitioners to enhance their engagement with children and young people affected by early life trauma. Through his innovative and creative techniques, Richard will demonstrate ways of working that enable placements to become healthy and nurturing through enhanced understanding of attachment and trauma, with the ultimate goal of helping these young people achieve their full potential.
If you are a professional working with children and young people affected by early life trauma in child protection, out of home care, youth work, education or involved in recovery work with children and families in need, this is a wonderful opportunity not to be missed.
This Session
There are so many ways that we can communicate with children – this webinar will introduce techniques that help those impacted by traumatic events that have become drivers to their present day and affecting their healthy development. Based on the successful one day training delivered by Richard Rose, the most effective interventions are shared in this two hour presentation. The idea that we are what we were, and the theme of walls, ghosts and monsters and how we can help by listening and being present will all be explored.
Please note that there is some overlap in content between this session and the Introduction to Therapeutic Life Story Work webinar.
